Beehive Registration & Biosecurity Issues

Our night meeting for 10 May 2018 will feature Peter Day, the Director of Compliance for the Biosecurity & Food Safety Division which sits within NSW Department of Primary Industries. The Biosecurity & Food Safety Division is responsible for the effective management of biosecurity threats to NSW and for providing certainty in the safety and integrity of the food supply chain in NSW. Peters primary role as Director – Compliance is to lead the development and implementation of compliance programs and business regulation services that support biosecurity and food safety objectives through the delivery of flexible regulatory monitoring, education and enforcement strategies. This includes driving an integrated risk-based compliance program utilising a large team of regulatory officers located throughout NSW and working collaboratively by building partnerships with other regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders.

Emmanuel has been beekeeping since 2013 and is an active member of the Illawarra Branch of the ABA.
