Our Doors are Open

We are an active enthusiastic club who welcome visitors to the bee museum and teaching facility. Our monthly night meetings are about something theoretical or fun, for example genetics, making mead or beeswax products.

We have lots of regular visitors including school kids, the disabled, teenagers, scouts, Probus and other community groups. We demonstrate and educate about pollination, honey and the difficulties faced by bees and their keepers worldwide.

We’ve had visitors from Spain, Turkey, South America, Korea, China, teach beekeeping skills on our one day hands on courses and we have fun doing it!

APIARY VISITS

Are you part of a community group that needs a beekeeper to speak or give a live demonstration on apiculture? The Illawarra Beekeepers have a permanent apiary and beekeepers museum located in Sutherland. We are open to visits from our community and abroad. We have hosted visits from many local and international groups. If you are part of a group that would like to visit our apiary and museum, you can contact us with details on your requirements.
