Remaining Schedule for 2019

The committee has finalised the remaining schedule and dates for the 2019 meetings including field days, night meetings, and the end of year Christmas party. The summary of events and dates are listed below and have been all added to the events page here.

8th August 2019 Night Meeting
Guest Speaker – Entomologist, Olivia Bernauer

Olivia is one of the students that received a grant from Illawarra Club for her research into pollination in the apple and cherry orchards in Orange and Young, Olivia will give us a short talk on her work so far.

Open Forum – general hive questions to our panel of experts. AFB month guide.

Swarm catching – let’s talk about disasters and problems that can happen when swarm catching, it’s okay to make mistakes as long as we learn from them.
Weather permitting we will make an artificial swarm in the apiary and give a demonstration on how to catch and re-home a swarm.

Pollinator week 10th – 17th November
Competition honey the do’s and don’ts to getting the perfect jar of honey.
