In May 2016  we opened our doors to the wider community and hosted an open day at our apiary in Waratah Park Sutherland.  At the end of the day, we shot and produced a short film featuring a beekeeper with a long history in Sutherland, Dennis Coates. Dennis was involved in the early days of the Illawarra Beekeepers Association and talks a little about the history and the council’s support from the association’s inception.
