Opening a Hive Correctly

ft Ian Phillips | ABA of NSW Field Day 2019

In this video, Ian Phillips shares his years of beekeepong experience specifically on opening a beehive correctly. Including what tools are needed and observations you can make to do the job right.

Ian is a long, long time member of Illawarra Beekeepers. He has been the Museum Curator there for many years and is a sought after Mentor for our new members. When not working with bees he practices for hours on spontaneous remarks he has for members and beekeepers at meeting.

This video was made possible because of the generosity and willingness of the presenter, to share knowledge and expertise. And also with the assistance in the form of a subsidy from the Amateur Beekeepers Association of NSW. Thanks to all in the ABA and others involved in this project who supported it’s release. A special thanks to the illawarra beekeepers assoc. inc. for the use of their venue and facilities. You can find out more about illawarra beekeepers at https://illawarrabeekeepers.org.au
